MINIMUM ACCESS REQUIREMENTS FOR STUMP GRINDING?

We need a minimum width of 650mm to access a site. Other limiting factors include very steep slopes and stairs.

UNDERGROUND SERVICES?

If you don’t know the location of your underground services we can help you with a ‘before you dig search’ and if necessary commission an independent service locator.

The services that concern us the most when stump grinding are phone, fiber and water. Power cables pose the biggest risk although they are generally buried deeper outside our operating depth.

HOW SHOULD STUMPS BE PREPARED?

Stumps should be cut off at or close to ground level. If not, we are happy to cut them down for you. However, this does add to the overall cost of the stump grinding job.

WHAT IS LEFT BEHIND?

Depending on the size of the stump, there will be a small or large pile of woodchips mixed with soil and sometimes root debris. These generally need to be removed before regrassing and can be used as garden mulch. In some cases it may be necessary to import topsoil to re-level the ground. We are happy to help you with this for an additional cost. Normally roots deeper than 300mm will be left in the ground as they will rot fairly quickly.

ARE YOU INSURED AND TO WHAT AMOUNT?

Yes, we have public liability insurance to a maximum of $1,000,000.

HOW MUCH DOES STUMP GRINDING COST?

We have a Minimum charge of $185 +GST or for Gold Card holders $165+ GST.

However, it should be noted that the cost of any stump grinding job can vary based on the following factors;

Access and site location of stumps

Size of stump

Condition of stumps

Spread of root system

The tree species -hard/soft wood

River rocks

WHAT MAKES STUMP GRINDING BETTER THAN OTHER METHODS?

The main advantages stump grinding has over other stump removal methods are its fast, relatively tidy and has minimal impact on surrounding landscaping. The only other comparable methods to stump grinding would be digging the stumps out using heavy earthmoving equipment or explosives which are generally not practical in most domestic settings.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?

We welcome payment by Cash or Internet Banking at the completion of the job.
